The list includes: NADIA COMANECI: THE GYMNAST & THE DICTATOR (2016, Zed Distribution), on the “Perfect Ten” gymnast and her survival in Ceausescu’s communist Romania; HAIR: LET THE SUN SHINE IN (2007, Kino/Lorber Films), the definitive documentary on the phenomenal Broadway musical; WRITER OF O (2004, Zeitgeist Films), a portrait of the elusive author of the erotic novel Story of O; FAMILY SECRET (2000, Cinetic Rights Media), the story of the filmmaker's discovery of her secret Romanian brother; BLIND LIGHT (1998, IFC), fiction/doc mélange of a photographer’s peak experience in a villa in Italy, starring Edie Falco; and BROKEN MEAT (1990), a stylized black-and-white portrait of the mad poet Alan Granville, which premiered in the documentary competition at the Sundance Film Festival.
With her own production company Blinding Light, Inc., based in New York, Rapaport has co-produced several productions with Arte-France. Her husband, Wolfgang Held has served as Director of Photography on all of these projects.
Rapaport is the editor of several feature documentaries, including SxSW winner A WOMAN LIKE ME, Alex Sichel’s final fiction/doc on her own terminal disease, HERE ONE DAY, Kathy Leichter’s widely-seen tale of suicide and its effect on a family, and multiple audience award-winner GRACE PALEY: COLLECTED SHORTS and HEATHER BOOTH: CHANGING THE WORLD by Lilly Rivlin.

Born in Germany, WOLFGANG HELD has been working as a DP in New York City since the mid-1990s. He went on the road with Sacha Baron Cohen as DP for BRÜNO, won an Emmy in 2008 for Best Cinematography on the PBS show CARRIER and shot CHILDREN UNDERGROUND, nominated for the 2002 Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature.
In fiction, Held has photographed over twenty narrative feature films, including the cult favorite TEETH, SOPHIE AND THE RISING SUN (Sundance, USA theatrical release Feb 2017) and ORIGINAL GANGSTER, starring Oscar nominee Jeffrey Wright, currently in post.
Held has also photographed many acclaimed documentaries, including: METALLICA: SOME KIND OF MONSTER, MAD HOT BALLROOM, CRAZY LOVE and WIGSTOCK: THE MOVIE. Recently he worked with Leonardo Di Caprio on BEFORE THE FLOOD and Nicholas Kristof on HALF THE SKY and A PATH APPEARS for Show of Force.
